Blinds are considered “hard” window treatments. Their slats, or vanes, tilt or angle to control the amount of light entering your home. They can also be fully opened, or pulled up, for an unobstructed view. Shades are “soft” window treatments that can be raised or lowered for privacy and light control. They may be opened from the bottom up or from the top down – or both.

Roman Shades and Blinds
When closed, a roman shade looks like a flat fabric panel. When raised, cascades of deep, horizontal folds are visible, yet the shade still presents a tidy look. Cords strung through rings on the back of the fabric give the shade its mobility. Some roman shades are made without dowels or lining, resulting in looser, puffier folds. A roman shade can be mounted inside or outside a window frame. Appropriate almost anywhere, a roman shade’s level of formality is defined by fabric and trim choices. For the look of luxury without yards of flowing fabric, a roman shade is a wise choice. Roman shades also provide good sound insulation.
Venetian Blinds
Horizontal venetian blinds are made from a variety of materials, so you can choose to match your room or budget. The most common materials used today are metal, wood-painted, wood-varnished & PVC. They are durable and easy to maintain while being very cost-efficient,; just wipe clean with a damp cloth. These blinds can rotate, giving you total light control into you home. These are suitable for all rooms in your home.
Vertical Blinds
Vertical blinds are usually made from stiffened fabric. Like their horizontal counterparts, vertical blinds offer excellent privacy and light control. The vertical slats in these blinds can be twisted via rods on either side of the blinds, to vary the amount of light into your room. They are a great choice for all rooms in your home and are easy to clean and maintain; they can be wiped with a damp cloth or vacuum cleaned depending on the fabric.
Roller Blinds
Roller blinds are practical, durable and great value for money. A roller blind does not have slats but comprises a single piece of long-lasting, specially treated fabric that is easy to wipe down and keep clean. These are excellent choices for windows where you want to maximise the sunlight or showcase a gorgeous vista. These blinds serve a number of purposes: blackout, see-through or UV blinds which give privacy and protection from direct sunlight yet don’t reduce the light in your home. Because of their durability, they are ideal for all rooms.
